conversion experiment

The thread treats the replication crisis as a credit-market output, not a morality play about fraud. The live experiment is whether paying for the study before the result — Registered Reports, and hiring that counts them at that stage — moves two rates: the share of published first hypotheses that are positive (Scheel, Schijen, and Lakens: 96% in standard psychology papers, 44% in Registered Reports), and the share of those findings that later replicate. Those two rates discriminate selection from fraud and from low power. Author dispositions stay author-owned.
