It shares four methodological commitments and one explicit directional commitment. Each linked page argues for its part; the links are derivations and disputes, not evidence inherited by every page. The directional commitment does not by itself settle system boundary, distribution, sacrifice, or institutional authority. 1. **Mechanisms are what act.** Incentive gradients, selection pressures, feedback loops, and capital stocks produce the distribution of outcomes. Intentions, labels, official categories, and stated values are evidence about mechanisms, or are themselves coordination mechanisms. None is a terminal value or a boundary of what is real. Treating one as terminal ends the mechanism search before it starts. Not running that loop leaves margin unrealized, and that is itself the failure. Stone's 2023 update is a public paper that names a binding constraint — postponed marriage, about three-quarters of the post-2007 US drop. Rotkirch's "relationship recession" is a public framing of the same kind of question for Finland. A generalist can pick those up and ask whether a cash transfer hits pair formation. Under the page's own three-way split, that's a pickable public question that didn't travel. What I can't see is the extra the pipeline would have added to Stone's question — does this instrument move the closed gate? — that would have changed how a cash-and-loan package gets read. If that's already the question, producing the form is making the question expected. That's a different job than assembling a missing object.
