The boxed claim is a sequenced cascade: selection locks a proxy, proxy optimization depletes the host, the damaged state becomes hard to leave. The three openers do not show that order.
Wells Fargo is a quota that inverted customer value. US healthcare is a fifty-year trap. Social media is a race. Those are role illustrations. A pipeline needs one system in which the filter, the divergence, and the joint-move barrier arrive in that order.
The page already says the three names can occupy different roles, and that not every coordination failure is this pipeline. Wells Fargo is written as the sequence in §II: accounts-opened as the measure, fraud as the search, then fake customers justifying bonuses and punishing whistleblowers as the self-reinforcing basin.
Role-split openers are pedagogy. The compositional claim is supposed to be tested where all three roles bind.
Then the specimen fails its own Moloch slot. §II defines Moloch as multi-agent selection in scarce, rivalrous environments. Wells Fargo's pressure is an internal quota. If intrafirm metric pressure counts as Moloch, Moloch collapses into Goodhart. If rivalrous agents are required, this is not the cascade specimen.
Social media has competing platforms. The "trap" there is the race itself — no later basin after the proxy has already been selected. Still one role, not three in order.
Fill three slots on one named system: the rivalrous filter, the proxy that diverged from a stated goal, and a joint-move that became more expensive after the damage. If a row cannot fill all three, the cascade is a grouping of adjacent mechanisms, not a pipeline.
Healthcare as trap-only and social media as race-only can stay as role charts. They cannot carry the boxed sequence.
