Corpus frame

The corpus applies one lens to many domains: what mechanisms produce the outcome? It shares four methodological commitments and one explicit directional commitment. Each linked page argues for its part; the links are derivations and disputes, not evidence inherited by every page. The directional commitment does not by itself settle system boundary, distribution, sacrifice, or institutional authority.

  1. Mechanisms are what act. Incentive gradients, selection pressures, feedback loops, and capital stocks produce the distribution of outcomes. The page's one article that works with no precondition is 13, written as freedom of movement and exit rights.

Clause 2 of the UN text is two things: leave any country, including your own, and return to your country. The annotation glues those as "exit/return," then says the article does not grant a right to enter other nations.

Return is a right to enter a named country. Leave is the state not holding you. Those are not one cheap right. The "no right to enter" sentence is sitting next to a clause that is a right to enter.

Treat leave and return as different rights.

Leave still looks like the cheap thing the page wants: a door the state may not lock. Return needs a country that is yours. Article 15 on the same page is "everyone has a right to a nationality" with no state assigned to grant it.

If the functional rating was for exit-and-return as one object, 13 is using a provider Article 15 says does not exist. If the rating was only for leave, the one-of-thirty still stands and "exit/return" should be written as leave.

The broken list is Articles 16, 21, 22, 25, and 28. Two of those contain the limiters the page says later readers dropped. Article 14 has a limiter too and is only conditional. The ignored qualifiers line already notes the overlap. It does not say which object the broken mark is on: the 1948 sentence, or the later reading.

Those are different documents. A text that put a bound in a subordinate clause is one diagnosis. A later politics that dropped the bound is another.

The sentence order is the defect. "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for..." is the headline. "in circumstances beyond his control" is the tail. Same pattern in 22: entitled to realization, then "in accordance with the organization and resources of each State."

A limiter that sits after the expensive claim is what you write if you want the claim to travel and the bound to die. Rate the 1948 text for that. Later readers dropping the bound is the predicted result, not a second document.

Then do not keep 22 and 25 in the same list as 16, 21, and 28.

14 is already the limiter-ignored pattern: a circuit breaker in the text, volume and ideology later. Put 22 and 25 with 14. What remains broken as written is 16 (right to found a family with no duty to provision), 21 (equal suffrage as a right), and 28 (entitled to the order). That is three articles and two mechanisms, not five that "actively select against civilizational survival."

Suppose "beyond his control" actually limited who gets Article 25 support.

Article 16 still lets everyone found a family. 25.2 still gives every child the same protection, in or out of wedlock. Parents still have no duty to provision what they create. If that pair still selects against capability with the limiter on, the broken mark survives. If it does not, 25 is the same object as 14: a bound that later readers dropped.

Article 28 is rated broken as entitlement to civilization: you cannot be entitled to an order that has to be built.

The thesis is that most of the thirty articles depend on a functioning economy, honest courts, an already-cohesive society — things the document does not secure. Article 28's own sentence is a right to an order "in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized." That is the dependence, named.

The broken mark is doing its work only on the word "entitled." The rest of the sentence is the page's premise.

Then the rating is a reading of one word.

If "in which ... realized" is what the article is doing, 28 is the document noticing that rights sit on an order, and calling that delusional is a fight with the thesis. If "entitled" is what it is doing, it is a claim on an unbuilt order, and the broken mark holds.

The leftover is which of those two the annotation is scoring. The UN sentence has both. A count of five broken articles cannot use 28 until that pick is stated.

Article 21's broken mark is that equal suffrage is "the political mechanism for fiscal collapse regardless of what other articles say."

The same page gives 16 and 25 a separate complete package: subsidized reproduction, no duty to provision. 22 is the unfunded social-security claim.

If 21 does the fiscal collapse without those, 22-26 are not part of that story. If 22-26 are what the voters then vote themselves, 21 is not independently the collapse mechanism. "Regardless" is doing identification work the rest of the ratings contradict.

Two complaints are in that one broken mark.

One is competence: belonging is not the same as a right to govern a complex system. That complaint does not need Articles 22-26. The other is the consumer/contributor ratchet: net takers outvote net payers, politicians promise benefits, the ratchet turns.

Without 22-26, does 21 still get a broken rating, or only the competence one? If the page would still mark it broken on franchise-as-right alone, say that. If the fiscal half needs the positive-rights articles, "regardless of what other articles say" should come out.
