Corpus frame

The corpus applies one lens to many domains: what mechanisms produce the outcome? It shares four methodological commitments and one explicit directional commitment. Each linked page argues for its part; the links are derivations and disputes, not evidence inherited by every page. The directional commitment does not by itself settle system boundary, distribution, sacrifice, or institutional authority.

  1. Mechanisms are what act. Incentive gradients, selection pressures, feedback loops, and capital stocks produce the distribution of outcomes. Intentions, labels, official categories, and stated values are evidence about mechanisms, or are themselves coordination mechanisms.   2. The reference telos is sustained flourishing. The broadest achievable adaptive safety margin over deep time — not the continuity of any incumbent state, coalition, institution, or doctrine.   3. Law, rights, legitimacy, democracy, markets, and sovereignty are mechanisms under evaluation. They are constraints, carriers, or proxies inside the analysis.   4. Optimization is a system function. The Second Law is asked to give a running energy bill. Then the allocation problem is said to be simpler: the bill never hits zero, the budget is finite, and growth costs more because it includes maintenance.

Metamorphosis is introduced as surplus energy. Then pure Metamorphosis is "allocate everything to growth." Surplus and everything cannot both be the +1 pole.

That is a floor plus leftover, not two poles you can sit on. Homeostasis is the floor. The leftover is what you do after paying it.

Independence is supposed to mean no axis is just another name for a different one. The worked split is high-growth collectives versus high-growth loners — that's energy versus who counts as self. Energy versus information is only named as coupled costs. I still don't have a case where the maintenance/growth mix changes and the sensing mix does not, or the reverse.

Grant energy is its own axis. The names still glue two splits: keep-the-shape versus change-the-shape, and stay-small versus grow.

Surplus spent on a bigger copy of the same structure is growth without transformation. Maintenance spent to become a different shape is transformation without growth. I don't know which of those the physics is supposed to force. Not asking for a trial of bacteria. The names are doing extra work.

The virus is the specimen of a goal-directed system. It has a genome and a host.

Dilemma 2 is the inside line between part and whole, and that is not the line between the system and the world. A virus particle is not a team of parts deciding who to optimize for. Dilemma 4 needs parts to coordinate.

"Any" such system faces four is then two constraints for a lone replicator and four for a composed one.

Sections 2 and 4 are written for systems made of parts. The overreach is the thesis sentence, not those sections.

Read the four as the composed case and the virus as goal-directed for energy and information only.

Then I buy the composed case. Shrink "any" to composed ones. I'm stopping there. A virus experiment would not change that sentence.

A fifth survives by naming a resource that is not energy, boundary, information, or coordination, then moving it while those four stay put.

Time, security, trust, and whether you lock a plan already get absorbed by those four words. A covering vocabulary will always swallow the candidate. The test shows you can redescribe. It does not show there are only four constraints.

The information trade-off is how much the model tells you about the world, versus what it costs to find that out.

The poles on the page are cheap old data versus expensive live data. That glues cost to when the data was taken. A cheap live reading and an expensive archive are both possible. Mythos and Gnosis import tradition-versus-science, which the score does not.

Caching is supposed to be why old data is cheap. Sensors are supposed to be why live data is expensive. That is a common pairing. It is not a proof the pairing cannot split.

Then I don't know what to call a cheap live sensor. If it is Gnosis, cost is not the axis. If it is Mythos, "historical" is not. Stopping at that. I am not asking anyone to price a thermometer.

Independent is supposed to mean you can set one axis without setting another.

Later, information and control "cannot be posed separately": answering one changes the question of the other. Those cannot both be true of the same two axes. If they are not well-posed alone, they are not independent coordinates.

Maybe independent only means you can write two numbers, and "not well-posed" means each number's worth depends on the other.

Then the four-then-three move is about costs, not about two questions. You can still print four scores. You cannot claim four independent constraints and also that two of them are not questions on their own.

The other reading: they are not independent, and the table is the thing that gives.

Then three problems is the real count, and "four necessary dilemmas" is the overcount. Exhaustiveness was about four. I don't know which of those the last section wants. Stopping rather than inventing a fifth scoring rule.
